ferret with heart condition

my ferret elvis has been recently been diagnosed with a heart murmmer and he needs an ecg exam to look at his heart closer the problem is they dont know what an healthy ferret heart looks like or how big one should be or how thick the walls are ect which means its trial and error with his medication which could be leathal if not correct the only solution my vet could give me was to borrow some one elses ferret so they could compare hearts i dont know anyother ferret owners its also a big ask. ive looked all over the internet for information on ferrets hearts and found very little the vet herself cant find any information herself ive also phoned all local vets and they know nothing vets. im at my wits end and dont know where to turn so i was wondering if any one out there knew anything or had any suggestions. Anything, i would be incredibley greatfull

Sorry to hear of your problems Vykky but we have a very ferret orientated vets Nr Hull which is not to far from you and they are very ferret savvy if you know what i mean (we send all ours there)

thanks for your help i contacted the vets you recomened, and although im unable to take him that far, the vet passed on some very usefull information to my vet so they are able to do the scan and understand the results and he will be put on the right medication. im so, pleased thanks again
